On 30 April 2026, WAAEH hosted their second of four “Bite Sized Chats” for 2026. The second session was led by Daniel Allman, Quality and Assurance Manager. Greater Manchester Housing First. Daniel leads on Housing First fidelity, sharing of good practice across the partnership and frontline training and development.
In this session, Daniel talks about actively bringing people with lived experience into the work of designing, delivering and evaluating Housing First. His work has helped ensure that the voice of people the service supports is an essential part of the Housing First fidelity assurance approach for his organisation. Housing First was developed in response to the direct experiences of people who have been homeless over long periods of time and the lack of capacity for the existing service system to deliver what they wanted and needed most – a home without any pre-conditions and access to support on their own terms. To continue developing and improving Housing First, bringing lived experience into the work enables the model to better meet the needs of the people it aims to support.
