Supportive housing is a highly effective evidence-based strategy that combines affordable housing with intensive coordinated services. Supportive housing provides a secure, safe home and access to tailored services to meet the needs of vulnerable individuals and families – breaking the cycle of homelessness and providing a path towards economic security, wellbeing and social inclusion. Australia does not have a shared definition of supportive housing and is not readily identified within the housing system.
The WAAEH, in conjunction with Micah Projects (QLD) and the Corporation of Supportive Housing (USA), are working together to develop a Supportive Housing Framework and Demand Model (Needs Assessment) for Supportive Housing.
