Bite sized chats: Bringing people with lived experience to the centre of service design and evaluation in Housing First

Over the next four months WAAEH will be hosting a range of international guests to unpack and explore different aspects of Housing First. The sessions are short and informal, with time at the end for audience questions.

(Please note, the time of sessions has been arranged to account for the different time zone of our guests).

Bringing people with lived experience to the centre of service design and evaluation in Housing First

Our April 2026 Bite Sized Chat is with Daniel Allman, Quality and Assurance Manager, Greater Manchester Housing First

Daniel is Quality and Assurance Manager for the Greater Manchester Housing First program. He leads on Housing First fidelity, sharing of good practice across the partnership and frontline training and development.

Join us for a conversation with Dan to talk about actively bringing people with lived experience into the work of designing, delivering and evaluating Housing First. His work has helped ensure that the voice of people the service supports is an essential part of the Housing First fidelity assurance approach for his organisation. Housing First was developed in response to the direct experiences of people who have been homeless over long periods of time and the lack of capacity for the existing service system to deliver what they wanted and needed most – a home without any pre-conditions and access to support on their own terms. To continue developing and improving Housing First, bringing lived experience into the work enables the model to better meet the needs of the people it aims to support.
