Our May Pulse session was held on 25 May, where we trialed a new, more targeted way of problem solving together. The session was broken into focused segments, each inviting input to tackle a challenge or test ideas using the group’s shared experience—not just job titles.
This approach sparked strong discussion, and we made space to let those conversations run, leading to some great insights and new ways of thinking.
ABS – Supporting Census participation
The Australian Bureau of Statistics joined us to explore how to better support people experiencing homelessness to take part in the 2026 Census. The conversation brought together insights from outreach workers across metro and regional areas, as well as people with lived experience. These ideas will help shape how Community Field Officers engage and are trained.
Clear Horizon – Understanding our impact
Clear Horizon took us through ways to better understand WAAEH’s impact, using tools like surveys, shared discussions and collective reflection. By looking at activities, outcomes and learnings, we began to see where we’re making the biggest difference—and where we can improve.
Preventing tenancy loss – interactive session
Housing Choices Australia led a practical session on tenancy sustainment. Using a real-life scenario, participants worked through solutions from different perspectives, focusing not just on fixing issues but helping tenants build skills and confidence to prevent them happening again.
We wrapped up by looking ahead, inviting input into future Pulse sessions and where our collective efforts can make the most impact in 2026.
As always, these sessions are about bringing our network together. We’ll keep shaping them around where you see the biggest opportunities to make a difference in reducing homelessness—making it rare, brief and non-recurring.
